The BrainSaver Helmet Safety Program helps to reduce the risk of serious head, brain and facial injuries by making helmet safety simple, practical, and accessible for riders of all ages.
Helmet Safety isn’t just about having a helmet. It’s about knowing how to use it properly, making sure it fits correctly, and building safe riding habits that last.
BrainSaver program is available at Safety City Summer Safety Days and Bike Safety Rodeo events, by direct request, at community events, and park-pop-ups, from April to August.
BrainSaver is built on a simple idea: Protecting brains starts with knowledge, fit, and safe choices. We noticed that less people were wearing helmets and that many were not wearing them correctly. BrainSaver program hopes to increase helmet use, knowledge, understanding and access to help reduce serious head, brain and facial injuries.
By combining education, fitting support, resources, and responsible access, BrainSaver helps make helmet safety normal, practical, and inclusive for everyone.
Helmets are designed to absorb impact and protect the brain, but only if they are used and fitted properly.
A helmet that is too loose, tilted, or worn incorrectly won’t protect the same way in a fall or crash. Brainsaver focuses on education and fitting so helmets can work the way that they are meant to.

BrainSavers is an education-first program. Community donations help support helmet safety education, resource development and production, assessment and fitting events, and the purchase of new helmets when gaps are identified.
We cannot accept donations of used helmets for safety reasons.
