Program Coordinator


Part-time hours: 20 hours per week, some evenings and weekends required 
Wage: $20.00 an hour

Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities (GPASC) is a registered non-profit organization and Canadian charitable organization. GPASC offers a variety of educational programs to the Peace Region to help with injury prevention. The staff and volunteers at GPASC serve more than 5000 residents annually. 
 
 The Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing the different programs offered. The primary responsibility of this role will be creating, facilitating and teaching programs. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for basic administrative tasks associated with the programs offered and will assist the Executive Director in helping the organization run smoothly. 
 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Develop, implement, and facilitate educational programs 
  • Coordinate and schedule facility rental bookings 
  • Basic administrative tasks 
  • Assist in planning and organizing fundraising campaigns and events 
  • Assist with grant research and grant writing 
  • Provide positive customer experiences 
  • Track financial data and provide reports as needed 

Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma with business, management and/or teaching experience 
  • A passion for community development 
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Positive attitude 
  • Experience working with youth 
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle 
  • Clean criminal record check and child welfare check 
  • Volunteer management and event coordination experience is an asset 
  • First Aid is an asset 
  • Willing and able to lift up to 50lbs at times
