History of Safety City
Safety City building started in 2006. Safety City is a major project of Grande Prairie & Area Safe Communities, built to give children the look and feel of a real working city as they learn to be safe. Safety City is equipped with real paved roads, sidewalks, street lights, traffic lights & signs, railway crossing, crosswalks and miniature buildings. Safety City is also the home of two amazing classrooms! Aquatera Learning Zone, where children participate in the Street Smart and Emergency Safety programs and the County of Grande Prairie No. 1 Farm Safety Barn, home of the Ag for Life Learning Corral, where children learn about farm safety.
A picture of Safety City layout, there are 40 spaces available for kiosk leasing which is a unique marketing opportunity for business who want to be involved in this amazing safety initiative for the children of our community. Thousands of people go through Safety City each year! |
