Wow! It was a busy one but we are pleased to announce that Safe Kids Week has just officially wrapped up. As you are well aware at Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities, every week is safety week because we work tirelessly to promote safety in our community. Promoting safety awareness and injury prevention to people of all ages is our true passion. On June 1, 2016, Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities held an Open House where people could drop in and learn about chemical safety and helmet safety while making a pledge to work toward practices that will save kids’ lives. Our involvement in Safety Awareness Day on June 4 at Hi-Volt Safety featured a number of fun and interactive safety topics, providing valuable information and great fun for all families that attended. Once again, Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities provided interactive lessons on chemical safety and helmet safety and provided another opportunity to take the pledge to save kids’ lives. If you would like join the movement to make the pledge to save kids’ lives by promoting safety awareness, you can post your pledge on social media using the hashtag #safekids20
